If you try to update your buggy brand new Windows Vista it may happen that, after you click the button “Check for Updates”, you get this message back: “Error(s) found: Code 80004002″. With this simple fix you can avoid the dreaded Update Error. Open the command prompt and write:
regsvr32 wuapi.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wups2.dll
regsvr32 wuweb.dll
Don’t forget to press enter after each command! Usually this trick works pretty well. If it doesn’t, disable UAC by going to Control panel–User account–Turn User Account Control on or off. Hope this trick worked!
