A few days ago in a post I spoke about the possibility to see Windows Vista 7 by 2009. The post came from many rumors on the web, also due to the fact that a road map had been released, showing a possible release for that year. Well, winvistaclub.com managed to “steal” an interview from the Windows guys saying that : “Windows 7 still in planning stage and will take approximately 3 years to develop”. Read the full intervew here. To tell you the truth I am more than happy about this news. I think that Windows Vista still needs a lot of support. It is far from being bug-free and perfect ( well, with Microsoft you don’t have the chance to use this word a lot of times). Having another buggy software out could only mean sharing Windows resources to fix bugs between two operative systems delaying, in this way, the day to see a Vista really stable and secure. Speaking about Windows Vista, when Microsoft started commercialising it, it had to think about stability more than money. Looking from this standpoint, releasing Windows Vista looked more like a money gathering than a real WOW…

gdocsThis add-on for Firefox is a nice companion for your Google Docs. In fact with it you can drag and drop your documents inside its sidebar to upload them. You can also search and filter them with it. There is not a lot to add. gDocs bar is a very interesting add-on. It is a pity the website doesn’t provide a lot of infos about its features. They could add a nice video or some pics instead of a sad bare bone homepage with a couple of writings. Anyway apart from this it is worth being tried.

vozmevozMe is an interesting application for your blog that lets you create audio files of your posts for those readers that don’t want to spend a lot of time in front of their pc, but want to listen to what you have to say directly from their MP3 players. The plug-in for WordPress is available here. But vozMe doesn’t look at bloggers only, but to surfers as well. In fact on its front page (that comes in English, Spanish and Italian) you can see a large form where you can write or paste whatever you want. A quick click on the “create MP3″ botton and that’s it! You can start downloading the file for your Ipod. To try with no hesitation if you are a lazy brat!;)

vistaIt looks like Microsoft is working hard on Vista (and XP) and its Service Pack Release Candidates. A few days ago I posted an article speaking about Windows Vista SP1 RC (6001.17128) v.744 update. Well, incredibly enough, another Windows Vista SP RC has just released to beta testers. Of course, the hack to download it is already available on the Internet. So let’s see where to download this new release and how to install it. Let me remind that, if in your computer you have another SP Release Candidate, you have to uninstall it in order to avoid any issue due to having 2 SP on the same machine. To uninstall it follow this link here.

  1. Download the hack here.
  2. Uninstall any previous SP RC version
  3. Run the hack
  4. Check for updates
  5. Install the updates named KB938371 and KB935509. This is a must if you want to run the SP1 into your machine
  6. Reboot the computer
  7. Check for updates again
  8. Install (KB937287_6001.1800). It will let you install the SP1
  9. Be patient
  10. After a few minutes check for updates again
  11. You should see the SP RC named (KB936330)
  12. Download it!

dell.jpgIf this rumor is confirmed, it will mean that hundreds of employees will be without a job in a shot time ( I hope not!). As a matter of fact it looks like Dell is about to close its kiosks all over the States. It makes sense to me since the competition is becoming really tough. With Wall-Mart, Best Buy and Radio Shack looking at big profits and eating other companies alive, well, I think the guys at Dell are right to use their axe on some company extensions. They can not afford to become sombody else launch!
