microsoft logoVista is very different from its previous Microsoft Operative Systems so sometimes if you have to run old software on it you may find some issue due to incompatibility or distort display of the screen. While most programs running on Windows XP still work on Vista this may not be true for older ones specifically made for Windows 98 or 95 for example. Luckily for us there is a little option which is unknown most of the times that can save us from a lot of pain and say-goodbye cry.

Here is the steps necessary to make your beloved old applications work:

  1. Right click on the icon of the program on your desktop (or the executable file .exe)

  2. Select Proprieties

  3. Click Compatibility

  4. Check the Run this program in compatibility mode for and select the O.S. your program run with

  5. If display error is your major issue you can also choose the other options shown below such as: run in 256 colors, run in 640 x 480 etc

  6. Done!
