win7.pngDespite the fact that there is still a lot of confusion about the definitive Windows 7 release date, it looks like there are so many news surfacing from the web, that it is really difficult to understand what is true from what is fake. Anyway today I want to show you some pics about the next Microsoft operative system. Apparently, a Russian website named whatsnext.ru has manage, in some way I don’t want to know, “to steal” something juicy about Windows 7. A whole pic gallery is available here. Have a look at it and tell me…is it true or fake? Personally I don’t know, but these pics show something really close to Windows Vista.

Now, even Hp has decided to embrace the new tendency with this brand new ultraportable laptop which, as you may guess, won’t be as cheap as Asus Eee, just to give you an example. The UMPC 2133 sports a 8.9-inch 1366 x 766 display, Wireless LAN, 2,5 pounds, and that’s it. We don’t know anything more. No word about the release date or its…expensive price.

If you don’t want to download or worse, buy Acrobat Reader, and you are looking for something really easy to open your PDF files with, then this simple but effective website is for you. PDFescape lets you open any PDF file within the browser itself with no need to install any piece of software. Reading from the website:
“With PDFescape, you can fill in PDF forms, add text and graphics, add links, and even add new form fields to a PDF file. Best of all, it’s Free!

Features in detail:

  • Fill out PDF files with Form Fields
  • Add Text and Shapes to PDF files without form fields
  • Save PDF files to your local computer
  • Have PDF files emailed to you or any other email address

Of course there is also the possibility to buy a premium account that adds more features, but even the free account is ok for most people’s need. I would like to mention the fact that, by using the free version, the website will add a little logo at the beginning and at the end of your PDF file.

After so many ultraportable laptops coming out at a fast pace, it was almost impossible to the old, good Europe to stay out without grabbing this new trend. And in fact, a UK company called Elonex intends to free in the wild its new, first ultraportable PC called Elonex One. This small laptop is intended for learners, people who approach the Internet for the first time and children. But Elonex One goes beyond it. In fact, it blinks its eyes to businessmen and people who are constantly mobile. Its specs are:

  • 7-inch screen
  • 1GB of flash memory
  • 4 MB Flash ROM
  • Linux powered
  • 2.2 pounds
  • Wi-Fi 802.11b/g (optional)
  • Wi-Fi 802.11b/g (optional)
  • Battery: 3 cells, 2200mAH/cell
  • USB sockets: USB 2.0/1.1 port X 2

The price is around £100 (~$200) and it will be available on February 28th at The Education Show in Birmingham, England. Honestly speaking I don’t like it at all. It is true; it is cheap, very cheap, but they could make it a little more appealing, with some style, more fashionable. Instead this brick-like laptop is going to make people’s surf experience as boring and flat as its design! To know more about nice and fashionable ultraportable laptops click here!

microsoft logoAmong the many things people don’t know about the not-so-new-anymore Windows Vista, is that there is a secret StartUp screen, a BootScreen logo and a wallpaer. The whole package is called Aurora. All Vista versions have it and to activate it, you need to follow some easy, really easy steps. Here is the trick:

  1. Click Start icon
  2. Click “Run” and type msconfig (alternatively you can press “Win + R” keys, and type msconfig)
  3. A window called “System configuration” appears. Click on the “Boot” tab
  4. Check the No GUI boot option
  5. Restart the system
  6. Done!
  7. Easy, isn’t it?
