Easy BCD Windows Boot Manager

If you wish to hack Windows Vista Boot Manager, as you know or you should, you have to click on Start (bottom left of your desktop), All Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt and write BCDEDIT. The solution anyway it is not handy, since once the DOS window gets filled with all the information, you may be at loss about what to do. The easy solution here is to downlaod the light, freeware, easy-to-configure EasyBCD. This little program lets you configure your Windows Vista boot in many ways. With its features you can: multi-and dual-boot profiles for Windows Vista + Linux, BSD, Mac OS X, back up and recover your bootloader settings, debug the boot process, create multiple boot profiles etc. With Easy BCD nothing is impossible for you anymore, even if you are not equipped with a specialised knowledge!

Great Program! I installed the Beta of Windows 7 on a separate hard disk. I didn’t realize that it would modify the boot record on my XP hard disk. Windows 7 Beta didn’t work for me. I was then stuck with the Winodows 7 Bootloader on my XP drive. Easy BCD removed the vista bootloader in seconds. The only effort it required from me was to read the menu items and select remove vista boot record.

i have windows xp installed in my c drive and windows vista in d…..partition c (xp) is my primary partition…now i want to get rid of xp and reclaim space in partition c by formatting it…i wanna use easy bcd such that i would delete xp from the add/remove entries ….and then write that mbr …..will this not affect my vista partition…will i be able to boot into vista then,,,,my conf looks like…

@techrajesh: Hello. No…deleting the XP entry in your Vista bootloader will not mess up your Vista boot. Simply go to Add/Remove Entries in EasyBCD, and select the XP entry, and click on the Delete button, and you will then only have the Vista and Wubi entries in your Vista bootloader menu, when you reboot.

I have Vista and Win7 instaled in seperate partitions on one drive. Vista is on the first partition (C:) and 7 on the second (D:). The boot loader defaults to Vista.
I couldn’t figure out how to copy the contents of the View Settings window here but the issue is I can see the Win7 partition when Vista is running but I can’t see the Vista partition when Win7 is running.
