Are you one of those people who like writing tons of notes to remind yourself phone numbers, names, streets, work stuff etc? If so, then Ubernote is the right service for you. In fact, Ubernote lets you save and store a variety of things such as: Task lists, Bookmarks, Web clips, Notes to self, Meeting notes, Recipes, Research and random thoughts or ideas. Everything is stored in your personal space, available for free and without any limit, in the website itself and because of this, you can access your own stuff everywhere you are. Of course this is another nice example of Web 2.0 which is taking over more and more in the Web, and which is bounded to redesign the way we think of the Internet itself. If you think to be a modern artist but you don’t have the right tools to show it, then you have got to try Viscosity. Viscosity is an online tool that lets you emulate modern artists by creating abstract things with a few simple mouse strokes. In fact, this online tool lets you manipulate 200 dots by moving, colouring, connecting and changing them. There are many options available to change the shape of your masterpiece such as: brush dimension, angular brush, smooth brush, mooshy brush, different kinds of quality selectors, different colors, different color styles etc. The results are quite amazing. Even if you are not a great drawer, you will be able to create fine pieces of modern arts and save them on the website for everybody to see. Interesting if you like experimenting with new things.

So this is the funniest news I have ever reported. You have to know that everytime a person buys a laptop from Sony, the company itself has the wonderful idea to stuff the nice brand new machine with a lot of crapware. I had this bad experience last year when I decided to buy a Sony Vaio at BestBuy (it was not for me, but for a relative of mine). When I got it ,well, it was so full of bloatware namely shareware software, free software I didn’t care about, software inviting you to buy other software etc that to just turn it on, it took me some minutes. I had to spend a good hour to uninstall all that stuff, just to find out that Windows Vista was so compromised because of that software I removed, that in the end I had to make a fresh install. Of course what I went through was also true for all those people buying a new laptop from Sony as well, and I bet the company received many complaints. Now the company, which is not deaf to people’s complaints, but at the same time thinks users are like cows to milk, has got the nice idea to deliver you a free-crapware laptop just if you pay 50 bucks!!! This nasty thing is called “Fresh Start” and it is available as an option for TZ2000. Of course it will be extended to all its laptops as well. Is Sony going nuts or are they just thinking we are stupid? I don’t really know. The only thing I know is that Sony is full of…crapware!

Hey, did you know that I have spotted another ultraportable which is going to be released soon? You are not surprised at all? Well, this time you should! In fact this new little jewel is different from other ultraportables I have reviewed, because it is a crossover among different things, without speaking about its small dimensions. But let’s see its most important features:
- 163 x 67 x 24.5-mm, 387-grams, shaped into a brick like structure.
- 4-inch, 800 x 480 pixel touchscreen.
- 1GHz VIA C7M ULV processor.
- 4GB of DDR2 memory.
- Dual boot between Windows XP and Linux Qplus.
- Cellphone capability.
- 1.3-inch 60GB hard disk or 4GB SSD.
- 802.11b/g WiFi, Blueooth 2.0.
- 5 megapixel camera.
- mobile television and external GPS add-on
So, this little baby is many things in one. Luckily for us its price is not that expensive since it is not the sum of all the devices it embodies! In fact it will cost around $500 and will be released in July. I like its design and despite the fact that it is a little too bulky and too brick-like, I think that will meet many people’s favours. My only doubt is when devices like that have lots of features coming from different devices, they end up doing almost nothing at their best. Let’s hope this device will be an exception!

As you all know, Asus is the company which invented the nice, sexy and cheap Asus Eee. Today Asus wants to amaze us with another piece of hardware which, I am pretty sure, is going to be a hit in the market soon. Its name is NOVA LITE Mini 2L and it is a micro Pc. Do you remember what I said to you last year? No? Ok, I am going to say it again. Soon the new trend, after cheap ultraportables, will be micro Pc. Now, I don’t have any Nostradamus capabilities here, but keep in mind what I just said to you. This new little computer measures just 9.09- x 7.24- x 2.00-inches and weight just 3.3 pounds. The micro Pc sports up to 2GB of DDR2 RAM, 80GB / 160GB hard disk, DVD burner, Wifi and USB 2.0 ports. No word about its price or release date. By the way, what does it remind you? If you ask me I would say that it looks like the Wii, isn’t it? I woudn’t be surprised if the guys at Asus did that on purpose. How many iPhone-like have we seen around so far?

So, one of the few things preventing me from buying another device (read Nokia N810) is my fear not to find all the stuff I am accustomed to, namely all the nice things my palm applications (coming from my Treo 650) are able to do. But what if the N810 was able to emulate Palm OS? Well, in this story there is no if! As a matter of fact a software company called Access managed to create a Palm OS emulator machine called Garnet VM for the Nokia Internet Tablet (770, N800, N810). Too good to be true? Not at all! Reading from the company website: “Garnet VM enables Nokia Nseries users to run thousands of Garnet OS (formerly Palm OS®) applications. Garnet VM supports some of the most popular applications in the mobile market including, Google Maps™, Snappermail®, DateBk5 and perennially popular games like Bejeweled®, PacMan and Sudoku. Choose from a wide variety of application types including, document processors, database managers, messaging, enhanced PIMs, life management tools, and more.” Did you hear it right? Now you have the chance to run on your N810 hundreds of palm applications, including games! Oh yes, the price… who knows how much it costs, right? Well, it looks like news are not finished yet. Ok, take a deep breath and relax. Ready? The Palm emulator is for free! Just fill in a short form and you are done! Don’t you believe me? Visit this page.

If you own one of the gorgeous Treo 600 or 650 you know that, with the release of the super gorgeous Treo 700w, many new, exciting features are available to the lucky owners of this new model. Two of the most wanted ones are, without any doubt, SMS response and Voicemail pad (VMP). I have to confess you that, when the Treo 700w hit the market, as a proud owner of a Treo 650, I was quite envious of these two features which missed in my Palm device. Things were going to change anyway. As a matter of fact a not-very-famous company (which is strongly committed to develop Palm software) called Ludos released a nice piece of software called LudosW. Let’s see its most important features:
- SMS response (Yeah!): When you can not take a phone call, LudosW will send a customised SMS to the caller, signaling you are buys or in a meeting. This feature is completely customizable and it lets you send different messages to different numbers, automatically substitute personalized information-first name, last name, or even company from your Contacts. Of course it also sends automatic SMS.
- Voicemail Pad (again, Yeah!):Why should you remember all those annoying voicemail key presses, when LudosW can do it for you? This feature gives you the chance to automatically enter the password for you when you pop up VMP. It can change the buttons to suit your needs and comes with presets for the major carriers built-in.
