openoffice.gifIf you don’t want to spend many  bucks on Microsoft software to write down your documents, then you have got to try this application. Open Office is a pretty famous freeware software which lets you write whatever you want in any format you wish. Open Office is the most dangerous Microsoft Office’s foe because basically it does the same things of it but for free. In many cases it performes even better than Microsoft Office. But let’s see into detail its most important features:

  • The software is completely free and open source. It is released under the LGPL licence.
  • Write whatever you want and in any format you wish such as: word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, databases, calc, draw and more.
  • It can read and write other documents coming from different office software packages.
  • Available in many languages.
  • No special knwoledge is required. Open Office has been specifically made on the base of what you alread know. Once you open it, everything will be familiar to you.
  • Open Office offers you many extensions such as: clipart, templates and dictionaries to play with, to enlarge its funcionalities.
  • It is available for the most important operative systems such as:Mac X, Linus, Solaris and Microsoft of course.
