Verbatim has just unveiled its brand new external hard disk drive called SmartDisk HDD. What strikes me about this new HDD are its dimensions. In fact it just measures 3.38-inches by 5.38-inches by 0.63-inches. Inside its rugged, ultra-modern case there are three 166GB platters that utilize advanced Perpendicular Magnetic Recording (PMR) technology at 5400RPM. It also include 8MB of cache memory and it will be available in USB interface or a Combo FireWire®/USB interface. Its price is set under $300. No word about its release date.
