iphone

A new version of iPhone software (named 2.0 beta) has recently been released to a small group of enterprise partners in order to test its new features. The most important ones are the new “Location Services” which let iPhone take advantage of its camera and Internet connection to use GPS-based Google Mapping along with Geotagging…but what the heck does it mean? Basically “geo-tagging is the process of adding geographical identification metadata to media files such as latitude and longitude coordinates — or even names of places — so that those files can later be referenced, searched, and grouped based on their origin.” Furthermore , rumors report that The new iPhone software adds a new function to the general Preferences pane to enable/disable Location Services letting users decide if they want to get advantage of this new function in their camera application and want to send data over the Web. This service is not a novelty among cellphones, since a lot of them have already used it successfully for a lot of years. Anyway as the old saying goes…better late than never! So, well done iPhone!

wiiwareFor those of you guys who have been waiting for this moment, well, I am proud to announce that WiiWare channel on Wii is now LIVE! At least in the States. Finally, you can download original games to your Wii, and I am not speaking about the ones already available on the Virtual Console. I am talking about brand new games which, albeit they are not novelties at all, let you spend some carefree time before your TV for a very cheap, reasonable price or Wiipoints. Here are some titles Continue reading »

gdium

EMTEC has just released a new ultraportable named gdium EM-PC which, I am surprise to tell you that it doesn’t look like the Asus Eee at all. How weird! How does it come that a company has started thinking with its own head not following any trend? Maybe they are just sick! Anyway this little jewel sports:

  • Linux based operating system.
  • 8.9-inch 1024 x 600 display.
  • Flash memory.
  • GKey” concept. GKey is an USB flash dongle that lets you lock the laptop requesting you an authentication to boot and start the machine.
  • Available in Australia from July for a price of US $420.

If you want to buy it, or you want to know nore about it, click here.

vistaA couple of days ago I was surfing in the Internet looking for some real Vista hacks to apply to my ORIGINAL Windows Vista, just for fun and improve my wonderful operating system a little bit. To my surprise I found out that there are a lot of fake hacks in the web and a lot, really a lot of junk. I mean: clicking on Computer, right click on C: , click on property and tick off “Compress this drive to save disk space” should be well known to everybody and should not be marked as “Hack”, right? On a lot of website instead this little, silly feature is sold as a big hack most of people don’t know about! I mean, are all users real noobs or what? That’s why, apart from inviting you to read this guide of mine, I want to report some real hack people should know. Be sure, they are hacks and not regular features dressed in something else to make them look more appealing! By the way, I used the word hack. But I really don’t like it. Nothing here has to do with hackers or with irregular procedures. They are simple tweaks not to activate or get something for free (and illegally possibly), but just to improve and make your Windows Vista a little sexier. Continue reading »

flvpA few days ago I wrote a little trick about how to download YouTube videos without any software. Now I want to speak about a nice freeware software which lets you display the same YouTube videos and download them in a very easy way! Differently from the trick above which has some kind of limitation (in fact, with it you can not download those videos which have not been encoded in a MP4 format), this program promises you to download all videos without any limit. FLVPlay also gives your computer those features to search and watch YouTube videos without actually going to YouTube website. Reading from the website “FLVPlay is a freeware software providing functionality to search and view YouTube’s video collection, as well as download video assets to the desktop and mobile devices instantly….In order to install the application, your machine needs to run Adobe AIR 1.0, which is going to be installed prior to application installation, when you hit the “Install Now” button. FLVPlay is a clean software, does not contain adware, spyware or any other bundled applications. As it is tested by the Adobe QA team, you can find it on Adobe AIR Marketplace. Mac users can find it on Apple Downloads.” If you want to download it click here.

msititan700

As I have told you a lot of times, after the cheap ultraportable tendency, now it’s the turn of the cheap micro-pc trend to take over the market. And in fact another micro pc has been released in the wild. This time is the turn of MSI to unveil its brand new Titan 700 which, apart from being very cheap ($458), promises you to entertain with the following features:

  • VIA CN700 processor at 2.0GHz.
  • 1GB of RAM.
  • Dual-layer burner.
  • 120GB 2.5-inch drive.
  • 4 USB ports.
  • Dimensions are 24cm x 18.5cm x 7cm (DxWxH).

Surely you are asking yourself if there are any downsides, since this tiny PC looks like heaven to you. Well, to tell you the truth there is something which turned me off… Do you want to know what is it? Ok… the price doesn’t include any operating system…Dho! A really “trivial” issue if you want your computer to run! If instead you are looking for a case to put your hamburger and coke in, that’s the right thing to get. If you want to know more, click here.
