inspiron mini

The famous ultraportable war seems to know no limits! In fact, despite there are already so many ultraportable laptops to fill in the whole world, Dell has just unveiled its brand new Inspiron Mini 9 (formerly known as Dell E) which is gonna try to get its share of market with its not-so-thrilling features. Here is a complete list of what Dell has managed to stuff into it.

  • Mini 9 weighs less than 3lbs.
  • 8.9 inch glossy LED-backlit screen (1024 x 600).
  • 4, 8 or 16GB SS (Solid State Driver.
  • Intel® Atom Processor® N270 (1.6GHz/533Mhz FSB/512K cache)
  • WIndows XP or Linux Ubuntu.
  • 512MB or 1 GB DDR2 at 533MHz.
  • Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 950.
  • Wireless 802.11g Mini Card. (of course…)

Despite all, looking at the picture, it looks like Dell has put quite a lot of efforts to make it better than its competitors. I like its polish and slick design as well as its robust materials. Not bad above all if compared with the first version of the Asus Eee or other ultraportable which look like crap. Dell Inspiron Mini 9 is already available the US, Japan and some European countries for a price of $399 for the XP version or $349 for the Ubuntu version. If you want to know more, visit the official Dell website. if you want to buy it, click here.
