No, this is not the title of the next movie hitting your closer cinema theatre, but it is the name of another ultraportable which, if you care for unique things, doesn’t look like the Asus Eee (at last!). As a matter of fact, Averatec has just unveiled  its 10.2-inch ultraportbale computer called Buddy. Buddy’s features includes:

  • Windows XP Home.
  • Processor Atom N270.
  • 1GB of RAM.
  • 160GB HDD.
  • Wi-Fi.
  • Is that all? I don’t know but it looks like there is some lack of info. I hope Buddy will include support for MMC and SD, a webcam and other features which are common to this kind of ultraportables.

Reading from the official press release: “The timing and launch of Buddy is a welcomed addition for our customer base. Buddy as well as our all new 18.4″ All-In-One desktop will clearly emphasize our commitment to our customers and our desire to be on the leading edge of these emerging computer trends,” commented Darren Lee, Director of Marketing at Trigem USA. “It has been an exciting time for us, the scope and breadth of our product line” really caters to what our market has been asking for,”

The price of this ultraportable is set at $450. If you want to know more, read the official press release.
