There are very few computer companies which are still out of the ultraportable-mania. Till some days ago one of them was the well-known Packard Bell which, nobody knows the reason, stubbornly stayed out from the fashion of producing small cheap laptops. All this happened some days ago. As a matter of fact Packard Bell has just unveiled its new and first ultraportable called “Dot”. This little baby, apart from looking exactly like the Acer Aspire, sports a lot of interesting features which don’t thrill anybody for their originality, since they are already and largely  available in the most famous ultraportables.

  • 8.9-inch screen whose resolution is of 1024 x 600.
  • Windows Xp pre-installed.
  • Atom processor.
  • 1GB of RAM.
  • 160Gb of hard disk space.
  • 6-cell battery.
  • built-in webcam and card reader.

This odd “Dot” is going to be available on the market around mid-Novemeber (Just in Europe so far) and its price is set at £315 which should be around $584
