Microsoft has recently unveiled its new  Internet-based service called Office Live. It mainly consists of two services: Office Live Small Business and Office Live Workspace.  Let’s explore these two services and find out what they have got to offer.

Office Live Small Business

This Internet-based service is especially designed to help small business to create Web sites for their activities.  The whole package comes for free and its main features consist of:

  • Domain name registration and business e-mail. Office Live Small Business gives you the opportunity to create and buy a domain for your business. If you already have got a domain name with another provider, you can redirect it to Office Live Small Business.
  • Contact Manager.  This useful service lets you organize your customer information, contact histories, and sales information in one place and make it accessible via the Web to their entire organization.
  • Document Manager. Store and share company documents in one central place for easy access and version control.
  • Workspaces. Collaborate and share information with customers, partners, or employees with password-protected online workspaces.
  • Project Manager. Plan projects, assign tasks, and monitor your progress.

Office Live Workspace

  • This service is designed to “regular users”  to create, store and share documents wherever they are.
  • Access your documents wherever you are.
  • No more flash drives. The only thing you need is a computer with an Internet connection. You documents just follow you wherever you go.
  • Password-protected sharing; you control who can view and edit your work.
  • Save over 1,000 Microsoft Office documents.
  • Open and save files from familiar programs like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Synchronize contact, task, and event lists with Outlook.

To start using Microsoft office Live, you just have to sign-up on the official website.
