Despite users are already able to download Windows Vista SP2 build 16497 since a couple of months, also thanks to a little hack, Microsoft has just released the official  command shell script hack which will enable your computer to officially download Windows Vista SP2 beta build.   Let’s see what we have to do to get and run it.

OK, the first thing to do to successfully download and install Windows Vista SP2 is to install the SP1 on your PC. Just go to your Windows update and download and install it. Also, you may want to read this trick on how to make your SP1 installation a permanent installation and gain a lot of space on your hard disk. After this, follow these steps (please keep in mind that you will have to uninstall any previous SP2 version to run the latest one):

1. Download the official hack from Microsoft servers SP2CPPRK.cmd.remove
2. Remove the .remove extension from the file name.
3. Run the script.
4. Go to Windows Automatic Update and detect the new SP2.
5. At this point you will have to download two prerequisite packages. Without them you won’t install the SP2 successfully.
6. Download KB955430. This package will enable the built-in installer to properly and successfully install the service pack itself.
7. Download  KB958794. This package updates the Customer Experience Improvement Program
   which will let you take advantage of all the new SP2 improvements.
8. Now you will be able to download and install Vista SP2 on your computer. Please, keep in mind that this beta will expire on May 1st, 2010.
