This is a quick news worth being told. Tomorrow, Sony is going to launch a new service for its PlayStation 3 called PlayStation Home. PlayStation owners will be able to download for free, directly from their consolle and more specifically from the PlayStation Home icon on the PlayStation(R)Network column of XMB(TM) (XrossMediaBar), this service which will let them gain access to the new 3D virtual on-line community which is, all-in-all, something quite similar to the well known Second Life.

PlayStation Home will let you voice and text, play games, explore worlds, interact with other people etc, by using customizable avatars. Reading from the official source: “… users can create and customize their own unique avatars and explore virtual community in real time where they can communicate freely through text or voice chat.  PlayStation Home users will not only be able to enjoy variety of entertainment content such as mini-games, videos and special events along with their friends, but will also be able to create their own community by using the “Club(*2)” feature to create clubs with other PlayStation Home users who share the same interests. ” If you want to know more about this new service, read the full press-release.
