How to remove watermarks from Windows 7 desktop

windows-7 If you are one of the happy and lucky Windows 7 users you know pretty well how bothering all those watermarks appearing on the desktop are. As a matter of fact, if you have a beta or a RC (release candidate) you will see “For testing purposes only”, if your Windows 7 is not activated yet you will see “Evaluation copy”, if you are on testing mode you will see ‘Test Mode” and if you boot in safe mode you will see “Safe Mode”. If you want to get rid, delete and disable all of these annoying watermarks to get a nice, tidy and clean desktop, here is a simple script which will hack the system for you in a couple of clicks!

Here are the scripts to apply depending on what Windows 7 version you have got (Links updated!):

Script to remove watermark in Windows Vista RTM, Windows Vista SP1, Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 SP1, Windows Server 2008 SP2 and Windows 7 Here is another link to the same script.

you can just change the registry entry”HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\PaintDesktopVersion” from 1 to zero.

Yes, it’s working for the build number you have. Make sure to always run the file as Administrator and choose the good options.

And those patch are made by Orbit30 for those who doesn’t know
Orbit30 is the one who also made PlusPatch for Windows 7 that will activate it, remove the Watermark, patch the TCIP, install tweaks, enable DreamScenes to run on 7, LOTS.

Anyways, I highly recommend you all to visit win7vista.com. That’s where Orbit30 put his stuff and where you can get them before others.
