playstation 3Update after update PlayStation 3 is showing us how a console can be regularly updated like a real computer application. This updating process looks like something called evolution to me! Anyway, if you have got one of these little jewels for Christmas, just go update it right away through PlayStation Network  or the system software updates from the Official PlayStation website.

This firmware update is supposed, as we can see from its size, to bring some major changes to your nice PS3. As a matter of fact, the update is around 140MB. Its major changes include:

  • Support for DivX 3.11 video clips.
  • No more log-in if you want to browse the PlayStation Network Store.
  • New Photo Gallery application with  face detection technology (available for download after the firmware has been installed).
