firefoxBeing before your computer is becoming a multitasking work more and more. You have to read, write, watch, listen, create, type etc. Most of the time you have to do two or more of these tasks simultaneously. This can generate a lot of stress, above all if you have to switch among different windows and programs at the same time. But, wouldn’t be nice, for example, watch a nice YouTube video while writing an e-mail without switching frantically between two windows? This trick will let you set YouTube videos to fill-in the Browser Window Only. Continue reading »

installpad

Having a lot of software on your computer is very nice. As soon as you need for a certain application you click  the proper icon on your desktop, the program starts and you can work right away. I myself have around 15 applications at least, and I have to tell you that I am quite happy and content. I have programs to surf, to modify my pictures, to convert music files, to chat, to talk, I have an antivirus and  an antispyware, a couple of burners, Google Earth and Picasa and the list goes on. Everything I need is right in my computer and I don’t have to look for anything else in the Internet. But what happen when I have to update this software? Simple, I have to open each program, click on the update link and wait. In the worst case I also have to go to the proper website and see if there is some new update or patch. This is not nice at all above all if I  have got other things to do! Continue reading »

wordpressOn 24th of December (what a nice pic, isn’t it?) my blog was shut down by my hosting  provider (Bluehost) because it was using a lot of resources in a shared server environment causing many slow queries and CPU exceed quota. Because of this, Web Talk was off for about 5 hours.  This caused my email inbox been flooded with dozens of emails from my readers asking me what had happened and when my blog was going to be online again.  This is  what I learnt from that experience and what I did not to occur in the same issue anymore. vistaThere are a lot of useful utilities in Windows Vista the regular user doesn’t know about. You can have a pretty good idea by visiting my How to section. Today I want to write about a nice and  useful, but rather unknown feature which lets you generate a health report in Windows Vista. This report is quite functional because, apart from telling what is wrong with your computer, gives you nice advice about how to fix them. Let’s see together how we can generate such a report in a couple of steps thanks to this little free trick. Continue reading »

hidetextTo tell you the truth, till a couple of minutes ago I didn’t feel like writing this article at all. Aren’t you tired, like I am, of  all  the articles  reviewing conversion tolls I have written so far? As a matter of fact, I have written about how to convert video, documents, web widgets, PDF, PNG and my little masterwork on how to convert images to ASCII (for what insane reason do you need to convert images to ASCII?). So why should I write this new article about how to convert stuff to something else? Simple, because this article can teach you how to protect your privacy and prevent thieves from using what you write in the Internet. Continue reading »

Internet is a place full of interesting websites which contain lots of article to print and copy on your computer. It is just sufficient to select an article you like (left-click and drag the pointer down), press CTRL+C to copy it on your clipboard and, right after that, press CTRL+V to paste it on your notepad to save whatever text you wish from a website. But what happen when this little trick doesn’t work? Continue reading »

mouseless

I already wrote about something similar to this article namely how to search Google without using your mouse or keyboard. Anyway I am going to take the whole thing to the very next level. As a matter of fact here I am talking how to surf the whole Internet without any mouse. Let’s see how we can accomplish this simple though difficult task. Continue reading »
