youtubeI knew, it would happen sooner or later! As a matter of fact,  YouTube has released a beta service called YouTube TV. That’s only the last, obvious and much awaited, final step of the video company, if you ask me. YouTube TV, as its name suggests, lets you watch your favorite YouTube videos directly on your TV. However, the service is limited to PSP 3 and Nintendo Wii so far.

YouTube TV offers a a dynamic, lean-back, 10-foot television viewing experience through a streamlined interface. It is sufficent to use your favorite console, type www.youtube/tv to start watching thousands of  videos right away. Don’t try to open the link from your browser otherwise you will be redirected to the regular  YouTube website. To open it you  need a console. If you want to be able to see YouTube TV from your Firefox, you have to download a special add-on, called User Agent Switcher, which will trick YouTube into thinking that your computer is a console.  Here is a small tutorial on how to istall it:

  1. Download the add-on for your Firefox.
  2. Once installed go to its options and set it to “Set Mozilla/5.0 (PLAYSTATION 3; 2.00) and Opera/9.23 (Nintendo Wii; U; ; 1038-58; Wii Internet Channel/1.0; en)”.
  3. Now go to www.youtube/tv and press F11.
  4. If you want, now you can also connect your PC to the TV.
