As you know, one of the best way to let the Internet know about your blog is to create a sitemap which informs search engines about pages and posts on your sites that are available for crawling. Useless to say, there are a lot of applications and online utilities building a sitemap for free. What was missing till now was an official Google sitemap generator which creates such a file in a Google-friendly way!

Google has recently released its own Sitemap Generator. Differently from other applications of the same type “…Google Sitemap Generator takes a different approach: it will monitor your web server traffic, and detect updates to your website automatically.” Apart from this, the tool will also send pings to the Google Blog Search every time the sitemap file (XML) changes. Every time the tool collects enough data it will create:

• A XML file (sitemap).
• A mobile sitemap for phones.
• A special XML file to make available to your readers.
