According to many rumors and a trusted source, it looks like Asustek Computer is thinking seriously to phase out its 8.9-inch Eee PC netbooks in 2009 to make room to the 10-inch and 7-inch models which are becoming the mainstream specification in the market. Also, Benson Lin, the company’s Asia-Pacific president, said that “of Asustek’s 2009 Eee PC shipments, 10-inch models will account for 95%, while the other 5% will be 7-inch models for telecom service operators”. So guys, you are forewarned. If the Best Buy round the corner is still selling those nice small Eee computers, it is just trying to get rid of its 8.9″ Asus Eee stock!
