Update note for Outlook 2010:
Microsoft now supplies a "Hotmail Connector" to automatically configure your account for the hotmail server connections.

Upon first boot of Outlook 2010 you'll be asked to configure an account. When you're finished filling your personal info - email address, p/w, etc. - Next will pop up a dialog asking if you want to download and install the Connector.

Once the connector is finished installing the installation will proceed to find your Hotmail server information online. Once it finishes that, which can take a few minutes, you're done - and it "just works".

Note: My account setup, as usual, didn't go as planned. When first prompted to install the Connector I Saved the file instead of running it. When that finished I was still on the same info screen, and got the prompt to install again.

This time I Run('d) the installation, which succeeded...but the install was'nt recognized by the wizard, prompting me yet again. Of course the install itself recognized that the Connector was installed and presented the usual options. I chose Repair, which quickly succeeded...after which I was prompted to install yet again.

I had to cancel the wizard - returning me to the Outlook Setup page, where I restarted the Account config wizard. This time it finally got a clue and bypassed the Connector prompt, jumping right to the next page and searching for server info.

(Sighhhh...once a s/w tester always a tester - even when I'm not trying to be one.)

Brilliant, fantastic! your advice took me two minutes and I was up and running with Microsoft Office Outlook 2003. Now I need to get "MailWasher from "FireTrust" operational as well for total perfection.

Thanks for this information. I like how nicely it is laid out. It could use more information as per program specifics, but that is time consuming. Thanks for the info and as a Computer guy I deff can send ppl to this website to setup theirs.
