Asus has recently released the first optical-drive-equipped Eee series laptop named Eee PC 1004DN. Let’s see together its specs.

Asus Eee PC 1004DN is another cheap Asus laptop, spiced with something new. As a matter of fact, the upcoming  PC 1004DN is the first Eee laptop equipped with a nice optical drive. But let’s see what its most important features are:

  • Powered by Intel N280  1.66GHz.
  • 10-inch display with a resolution of  1024 X 600.
  • 120GB PATA hard disk.
  • 2 GB SoDIMM RAM.
  • Built-in Bluetooth® v2.1 module.
  • Wifi 802.11n
  • 1.3 Megapixel Video Camera.
  • Hi-Definition Audio CODEC.
  • Windows or Linux operating system available.

    Ripoff. One: adding an optical drive uses much more power. Two: the addition of a PATA hard drive is going to slow down the netbook. Three: The price is probably gonna jump to like $599-$699, essentially throwing it out of the netbook category altogether.
