Playstation 3 firmware update version 2.70

Sony has just made available a new PlayStation 3 update which brings  its firmware to version 2.70. To tell you the truth there isn’t any exciting at all in this new update, apart a couple of improvements which are worth being told. The first most important addition is the new  Text Chat feature which lets you communicate online with your PlayStation Network friends. The new Text Chat lets you talk online with up to 15 friends using the Wireless Keypad, on-screen keyboard, or other compatible devices. Other enhancements include:

  • Friends list on the XMB (XrossMediaBar).
  • Sort your friends via their online status.
  • Attach larger files to the messages(up to 3 MB).
  • You can backup the videos you bought from the PlayStation store to any external storage.
  • You can transfer video bought for the PSP to your PS3 for playback.
