vistaThere are times where you wish to open a particular file using your favorite software which is not supposed to open it cause it’s not its default associated application. For example, you may wish to open a notepad file using your FTP client application or Microsoft Office Word or your Wordpad. Here is a quick, really quick trick to open whatever file you wish with wathever application installed on your computer.

The trick is really simple, as a matter of fact all you have to do is  place the shortcut of your favorite application in your Windows Vista quick launch bar.

At this point to open a file with  that application:

  • Go to the file you want to open, press and hold down the SHIFT key and drag the file into the Quick Launch icon.

If you have got Windows 7, just  drag your favorite application to your Taskbar. At this point just repeat the step used for Windows Vista.
