YouTubeThere are literally tons of hacks, tricks and applications which let you download videos from YouTube. In fact you can read these articles of mine on how to download regular videos from YouTube by using a hack or just by using a free software. Anyway, with the release of High quality and HD footages (720 pixels x 1280 pixels), YouTube has enlarged its already-huge selection of videos, promising  to give you endless hours of fun. The downside of this new generations of clips, trailers, MTV videos etc.  is that, because  of their video resolution, they are contained in  big  files causing the video player to stop every now and then in order to download the rest of the video it is about to display.  Wouldn’t be nice to download them first, while you are doing other things on your computer, and watch them later without being interrupted every 15 seconds?  Here is the hack!

This little hack works perfectly in Firefox, Internet Explorer and even on the new Google Chrome. All you have to do is to create a new bookmark and copy-and-paste this Java script in its location:

javascript:window.location.href = ‘http://youtube.com/get_video?video_id=’ + swfArgs['video_id'] + “&fmt=18″ + “&l=” + swfArgs['l'] + “&sk=” + swfArgs['sk'] + ‘&t=’ + swfArgs['t'];

At this point, next time you meet a video labeled HD (High Definition) or HQ (High Quality), just click the bookmark you created to be prompted by an “Open Video”video to download the video on a folder of your choice.
