The Quick launch bar in Windows is that useful place where you can put shortcuts to those applications you use mostly on your computer. The procedure to add a new shortcut is quite easy. Just drag-and-drop an icon from the desktop to the Quick Launch bar and you are done. By default, the Quick Launch bar has got a “Show the Desktop” and a “Switch Between Windows” shortcut. I find the first shortcut very useful because, when my desktop is crammed with windows, it is sufficient to click it to make some order, minimizing all the windows to the taskbar. If, for any reason, your Quick Launch is missing these two shortcuts, here is the solution to put them back.
- Go to this location on your computer: C:\Users\Default\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch. If you don’t want to browse among the different folders, juct copy-and-paste the string above in the Search box located in the Start Menu and press Enter. If you manage to see the two shortcuts, just drag-and-drop them in your Quick launch bar and you are done.
- If the string above doesn’t work, in the Search box type shell:Quick Launch and press Enter. and repeat the procedure described above.
- Done!
