There are so many applications to extract compressed files that I don’t really know where to start. As a matter of fact, you can read these articles of mine speaking about how to preview pictures in a zipped file,  how to recover damaged zipped files and how to zip and unzip everything with a freeware tool. Anyway, if you are the kind of guy who don’t like to install a lot of software on your computer, here is a wonderful, free, web 2.0 webtool able to extract anything from any compressed archive.

Wobzip is a freeware, web 2.0 tool which extracts everything on the fly. Here is a list of its most important features:

  • It supports the following formats: 7z, ZIP, GZIP, BZIP2, TAR, RAR, CAB, ISO, ARJ, LZHCHM, Z, CPIO, RPM, DEB and NSIS.
  • Unzip an URL directly.
  • 100 MB max file size.
  • Scan  compressed files using an anti-virus scanner.
