windows 7As you know, Microsoft is getting closer and closer to release its new operating system Windows 7 RTM (Release to Manufacturing), above all right after the news that it is getting ready to release the public Windows 7 RC (Release Candidate). But what are the minimum system requirements? Will Windows 7 be able to run on your computer? Let’s find out what minimum hardware requirements Windows 7 needs to run on your computer.

  • 1 GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor.
  • 1 GB of RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB of system memory (64-bit).
  • 16 GB of available disk space.
  • (32-bit) or 20 GB of available disk space (64-bit).
  • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver.

If you want Windows 7 to take advantage of Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP Mode, here are the requirements your computer needs:

  • 2 GB of system memory.
  • Extra additional 15 GB of free disk space.
  • Intel-VT or AMD-V supported and enabled CPU (to support hardware virtualization).
