After Kindle 2, Amazon has just unveiled another e-book reader called Kindle DX. This new device sports a big display and a lot of new features making it a different and innovative model compared to Kindle 2. Let’s see together this new device in detail.

The first news jumping in front of my eyes is the native PDF support that allows you to display PDF documents without need to convert them in other readable formats. The built-in PDF reader also lets you read documents in both portrait and landscape mode without losing  the original  feel and formatting. Another wonderful feature is the auto-rotating screen which gives you the option to read a document in portrait or landscape mode. If you want to view full-width maps, graphs, tables, and Web pages, just turn the Kindle DX to auto-rotates from portrait to landscape  and vice versa accordingly. Other features include:

  1. Extremely slim. Just over 1/3 of an inch.
  2. It manages to hold 3,500 books, periodicals, and documents.
  3. Big display! 9.7″ diagonal e-ink screen with 16 shades of gray.
  4. 3G wireless to download ebooks wherever you are.
  5. Read to me. Have your Kindle read the books for you thanks to text-to-speech feature.
  6. Size: 10.4″ x 7.2″ x 0.38″
  7. Support for: Kindle (AZW), PDF, TXT, Audible (formats 4, Audible Enhanced (AAX)), MP3, unprotected MOBI, PRC natively; HTML, DOC, RTF, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP through conversion.
  8. 4GB internal storage.
  9. Long battery life. A single charge lasts up to 4 days with wireless on. (fully charged in 4 hours).

Amazon Kindle DX costs around $ 489 and is available on this Amazon webpage.
