However, if you don’t feel comfortable among registry keys and you are afraid to mess up your brand new computer, here is a nice freeware utility which, in a couple of clicks, will make Windows 7 faster than ever and in an always perfect condition.
EnhanceMySe7en is a freeware utility which contains a series of tool to tweak, improve and make Windows 7 faster. Everything in Windows 7 will carefully optimized. From disk space to its fragmentation, from installed software to HDD temperature etc.

Yeah, don’t forget to defrag the drives properly. The HDD is still the slowest component of the PC, and keeping it fragmentation free is very important. Unfortunately, the Win 7 defragger is almost as bad as Vista’s was- slow as a snail, no full GUI, and doesn’t defrag the drives completely. I don’t like it :/

Yes, you are right Altech. Defragmenting the HDD is one of the most important things in the end. Also, do not forget to go to Computer – right click on the partition containing the operarting system – Properties – Tools – under Error Checking, press the Check Now button. Don’t forget to tick both options (automatically fix files and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sector) Please note that these checks will be performed on next bootup and will take more than half an hour!
