    Hi Web Talk

I’ve visited all these giveaways from Avanquest and I’ve got all the serial numbers, some are just more like a password than a registration code, but I am having a problem firstly with the Expert PDF 5 Pro because at no time does Avanquest say where the download link is.

I’ve managed to find one at Avanquest Germany but the downloaded software is all in German which I speak as it happens but I would prefer it to be in English, but then German is more preferable than if it came from the Spanish site where I registered for it.

Any help with download links for the English versions would be very much appreciated.

I haven’t had time to get through all the ones that haven’t got a download link yet, the french ones just put you straight on a page with a download button so I’ve got those already but haven’t as I said had time to install them to see if they’re in English or not

  2. Roy Smith Says:

    Hi again

Well as far as I can tell the Star Office 9 giveaway is actually for a Grammar and spelling correcter called “Duden Korrektor” Duden being the German equivalent of the Oxford English Dictionary and is all in German because it is aimed at German customers.

This is a freebie for people who have already “bought” the Star Office 9 Deluxe software and although it will also work with Open Office v3.0.1 I believe it is all in German when it interacts with that as well I could be wrong of course but it does appear to me to be that way at the moment

  3. Roy Smith Says:

    Hi again

I can’t find a download link for either Serif PhotoPlus 11 or Power Translator 11 Pro other than ones where I have to pay for the download or join (with payment) some kind of file repository to download them.

Either I’m missing something here or any free download links there were have been withdrawn

  4. Roy Smith Says:

    Hallo again

I’ve finally found a download link that is working for Expert PDF 5 Pro in English at VisageSoft Archives, this one:

    http://www.visagesoft.com/dn/expertpdf_v5_pro.exe

  5. Roy Smith Says:

Sorry to be such a pain but the English setup file from VisageSoft has problems in that it only has half the amount of the German one . English 22MB to the German 46MB. and it doesn’t seem to be able to find some printer dlls either.

What more can I say, I’m trying to help but maybe someonr with more experience in this kind of thing should do it. I’m giving up!

  6. Web Talk Says:

Trick for Expert PDF to have the program in English language:

To turn the program to English go to the folder where eXPert PDF 5 Pro is located. By default, this folder should be in C:/Program Files/Visagesoft/eXPert PDF 5. You should be able to see a folder called “Resources”. Right click on it and rename it “Resources2″.

If you want to have the help file in english, visit this link:
    http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ty05km2cddz
To install the help file follow these steps:

    1. Right-click “expertpdf.chm”
    2. Click Properties.
    3. Click Unblock.
    4. Double-click “expertpdf.chm” and make sure it is fully working.
    5. Repeat the same for “pdfeditor.chm”.

    Cheers!

  7. Roy Smith Says:

Only 2 out of 10 of your so-called giveaways can be down loaded from anywhere across the globe!!

    Of those 2;

    Expert PDf 5

is in German doesn’t install properly because it is missing some dll’s and it also needs to be modified in order for it be readable by english speakers who I suspect make up the vast majority of your readers!!!

    And

    Movavi ConvertMovie.

is completely in French, but won’t install either because it too is missing some vitall dll’s from the installer and I’ve tried redownloading it etc with no joy.

So you get a big fat ZERO out of 10 for professional non-competence because you obviously did not checkout these offers yourself or you would have torn your hair out like I am at this complete and utter waste of hours and hours of time.

And if you were profeesional about this and did check them out send me all the download links to the complete setup files and then publish them on here so no-one else has to go hunting around like I have been for hours finding nothing.

And if you admit you were not professional in this one respect then an apology on this page to everyone you have misled would go a long way to restoring faith and the removal of this article asap would also stop anyone else being trapped in this hideous farce!!

  8. Smith_Tech Says:

What in the hell r u talking about dude? Despite the fact that I could not find the download link for a couple of promotions, I managed to successfully download and activate the other ones!!!!!!

So I would say the other way around. Majority of these promotions works perfectly. This article is not original because these promotions can be found on other blogs and website and everybody has managed to find them. There is even a blog offering more than 30 Avanquest giveaways!

Before writing such long post, learn at least to look in the Internet the way you are supposed to!!!!!
My vote is 7 out of ten. Good job! But I give a 5 to the download procedure. The author could have at least posted the link to download the software in English.

Apart from this article is OK!

  9. -Morton- Says:

Some of them worked for me too. There is a thing to say. Avanquest changed some links while other promotions are not valid anymore.
I found another link with downloads: especialantivirus.blogspot.com/2009_09_20_archive.html

I won’t be so harsh with the guy who wrote the article here. He could not keep track of all the changes which happaned in those links.
    It’s OK…..

  10. Web Talk Says:

Hey! What’s this mess about? :) Well, you all are right if you ask me. In fact, Roy is right because I didn’t try out all the giveaways. I just tried three of them. But also Smith and Morton are right because some links are expired and other giveaways have changed their web addresses or expired themselves.

The issue is that I can not check all my 1700 articles to see if links are ok or not. If somebody want to help me, he is welcome! However, I want to remark the fact that a simple: “Why don’t you post the download link in english? ” or “Check the links because there is something wrong” would have been more than sufficent!

Web Talk is a blog which is maintained only by me. I am also the only one who writes and takes care of it. I do not have any problem to apologize with my readres if there is something which doesn’t work such as broken links, expired giveaways, or inaccurate infos. When I write, I try my best, but lack of time, money, help and resources may create some inaccuracy in my posts. Well, the only thing I can say is…next time I will do better! :)

  11. Roy Smith Says:

Okay I agree with you all I’m wrong and I admit it, but I’m not a computer wizz kid, I’m a Survival Instructor and I don’t take anyone to the arctic, jungle, desert or mountains unless I’ve been there personally and reconnoitred the terrain to make sure it will be good for others to go there and have a successful trip, and at the very least I always take along a local guide who knows the area, what to do, and where to go if I do not know an area well enough. In my profession being harsh, strict and critical saves lives

However I do accept from Smith and Morton that I am being too harsh, strict and critical here in what is just a blog written by someone who is trying to help loads of others and not just me (I have to learn to change my mindset when I get back to civilisation): and therefore I too apologise, very sincerely, firstly to the Web Talk people and then to their readers who find I am hyper critical, because I never intended to come across like that either.

But I have spent hours searching for the links and if I had successfully found ones that worked and successfully installed and activated any of them after spending all that time I would have put them on here to help others.

We’re all at different levels here and those of you who are good at this and have been successfull finding links and installing and activating could at least be kind enough to share them with those who are not so computer savvy (like me), because in this field of endeavour I am a beginner and rookie greenhorns like me in any field need the help of others.

Isn’t that what this blog and life are all about? helping one another, doing the best we can sharing the wisdom and knowledge we have gleaned in our own fields with those who are only learning what we already know.

And having re-read a number of times what i have written before I can only say that I have been so stupid to jump in with both feet and start shouting when I should have been quietly asking for help.

So I thank Smith and Morton for kind of taking me to one side and pointing out to me that I have been out of order here

I will also do better in future.

    Sorry to all

    Yours respectfully

    Roy

  12. Web Talk Says:

    Hi Roy!
You have not been stupid and now you are behaving the other way around meaning that you are too harsh with…yourself! What you said is right but well, there are ways to express your disappointment!

Next time you find something wrong in my blog (and I am pretty sure you will find other things which are wrong) just let me know in a friendly way and I will see what I can do to help you! In the meawhile stick around because I will post other giveways which I hope will be more exact!

However, you scored another point. My blog is visited by 2500 daily readers. The issue is that 99% of them, just grab what they need and…that’s it!

They forget to share. They forget to share if they find something more, they forget to share if they find inaccuracies, they forget to share infos which could complete what I wrote. I can not do anything about this. I guess that’s just human nature!

Have a great day Roy… and to other readers…do not forget that sharing is caring!

    Cheers :)
