I have bought and downloaded windows 7 because someone offered me a winwows xp sp1 which can't be updated. I'd like to make a bootable dvd in order to erase this XP sp1 and install windows7. When i try to use Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool it requires image mastering api v2. The problem is that image mastering apiv2 can't work with xp sp1! If you have any idea to help me it would be wonderful. Thanks

Install Win 7 from a bootable 4gb USB drive with 1 click.

* Download UNetbootin tool (free) from here:
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/unetbootin/UNetbootin/356/unetbootin-windows-357.exe

* Run the tool, and browse to your Windows 7 ISO image file and click OK and
select the drive letter of your USB. That’s all!

It takes about 15 minutes to finish. (Remember the boot sequence in your biosmust be set to use the USB first.) Windows installs in about half the time from USB... even the cheap ones read about 25 kb/s ...while dvd reads about 5
kb/s

This also works on the upgrade version - like students with .edu email address are getting for $30 .. you'll just need to FIRST put the files in your "expandedsetup" folder into an iso with a program like UltraISO. After you have created the bootable usb with the upgrade version of win 7 you can simply put it into any computer and go to custom install and install to a clean new formatted hard drive with never any sign of an os. You can even edit ei.cfg and tell it to intall the Ultimate version.. but your home pro key will not register the Ultimate version.
