As you know, Microsoft Windows 7 has been officially launched. If you want to get it, the only way Microsoft gives you is to download it through its many online stores or  MSDN or TechNet subscriptions. However , as you may guess, Microsoft never releases any official link pointing to the Windows 7  files. Such installation files are hosted on special server which have the following domain:  msft-dnl.digitalrivercontent.net and are owned by Digital River which is nothing else than the official  Microsoft Marketplace e-commerce store. But here is the great news! Such installation files have recently  been leaked so that now everybody can download the new operating system thanks to direct links to the official Windows 7 release!

Windows 7 installer package is made out of three files which have .EXE and .BOX extension respectively. Here are the direct  links:

  1. Win7-P-Retail-en-us-x86.exe
  2. setup1.box
  3. setup2.box

If you want to unpack the files, put them to the same location ( a folder, for example) and click the .EXE file. If you are interested in downloading Windows 7 64-bit version click here.

If you don’t know how to use these files, read my guide on how to make setup.box and .EXE files as a single  bootable Windows 7 ISO file!
