windows 7Some months ago I wrote about great ways to improve and customize taskbar in your Windows 7. Thanks to my tricks and hacks you can show custom text in the taskbar, disable the thumbnail preview, speed up the taskbar and add the Control Panel or the Recycle bin to the taskbar.  Today I want to talk about a simple tricks, which always goes unnoticed, which lets you customise the taskbar and change its look dramatically.

After installing Windows 7, by default the operating system will show you the taskbar with big icons and different programs. If you don’t like what you see or if you simply want to save some space, here is a simple trick to customize the taskbar.

  1. Right click on any empty space on the taskbar.
  2. From the menu, select Properties.
  3. On the taskbar tab check Use small icons and click OK.

If Instead you are of the old school and want to have the classic Windows taskbar, here is the simple procedure to follow:

  1. Right click on any empty space on the taskbar.
  2. From the menu, select Properties.
  3. Next to Taskbar Buttons, select Never Combine and just click  OK.
