bluescreenview

A few days ago I posted an article where I wrote on how to try to fix and repair your Windows operating system from the dreaded Blue (or Black) screen of death. A couple of days ago I found an interesting application which, despite doesn’t fix the error magically, it  helps you determine what is wrong in your system and why it is displaying such a terrible message!

BlueScreenView is a free tool which fully scans the minidump file which is created right after the bsod., returning you with a complete list of information related to what happened on your machine.  For each crash BlueScreenView reports the minidump filename, the date/time of the crash, the basic crash information displayed in the blue screen and the details of the driver or module that possibly caused the crash. What follows is a list of its most important features:

  • Automatically scans your minidump file after each crash.
  • Lets you see a snapshot of the bsod.
  • It shows  the details of the device drivers loaded during the crash in the lower pane.
  • Allows you to work with another instance of Windows, simply by choosing the right minidump folder (In Advanced Options).
  • Compatible with Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.
