For Windows 7 Home Premium (& maybe Basic too), you could try this. This will disable your ability to use gadgets. 1. Click Start. 2. Type windows features & press Enter. 3. Find Windows gadget platform (near the bottom of the list) & clear it's check box. 4. (Optional). While you're there, I would also reccomend clearing the check boxes for Games & for Tablet PC components, unless you do have a tablet PC. 5. Click OK.

I researched the Wiki and MS for info on this. I use a Logitech G15 keyboard with a display. I’m not sure, but I think I would lose my RSS feeds in the display if I turned this off. Any ideas, Frank?

yes, this problem is well-known in Windows 7. Home Premium or Basic editions do not have this command. I have made a quick search and as far as I can see there is not any solution to this issue. Sorry!
