windows 7 enterprise ver. 6.1
i have short cuts which are related only to the use of a VPN, so i guess they would appear broken if the VPN is not connected, is there a way to maintain the system maintenance troubleshooter and keep the short cuts?

If you disable this it wont check for volume errors or error reports that are taking up space either so beware.

you have to be in category view when you go to control panels

I could not find this path in Windows 7 Pro.
1.Click Start.
2.Click Control Panel.
3.Click System and Security.
4.Click Find and fix Problems.
5.On the left pane, click Change Settings.
6.Now, set System maintenance Troubleshooter Off.

I did find it via this path however:

Start, Control Panel, Troubleshooting, Change Settings, Computer Maintenance set to OFF.
