firefoxAccording to some rumors, the next, or one of the next Firefox releases, will be faster in terms of Javascript rendering. This means that Firefox will manage to render blogs and websites in a better way, also reducing the time it takes to show them on your computer screen. Basically, one of the next Firefox builds will be blazing fast! If you want to have a glimpse of the future, try this trick for Firefox… now!  It toggles GPU accelerated rendering via DirectX 11.

  1. As a first step, you need to download a version which will let you perform the trick I am about to show you. So, download and install one of the nightly builds. Please, do not rely on such versions because they might be unstable and give you issues in terms of Internet surfing.
  2. Open Firefox.
  3. In the Web address field, type about:config and press Enter.
  4. A message followed by a button saying “I’ll be carefull. I promise!” should appear. Click on it.
  5. Now, In the Filter field, type gfx.font and press Enter.
  6. Double-click gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.enabled and set it to True.
  7. Under this key, right-click on anpy part of the pane.
  8. From the menu, select New Integer and create a new key called: mozilla.widget.render-mode
  9. Give the new key a value of 6.
  10. Restart the browser for the change to take effect.
