windows 7Some months ago I wrote an article about how to turn on Windows 7 Aero theme. However, for those of you guys who didn’t manage to successfully turn on this great Windows 7 feature by using the tutorial above, I have discovered an incredible hidden DOS command which, without rebooting your computer nor logging off Windows 7, will let you enable the Aero Peek theme in a couple of seconds!

  1. Click Start.
  2. In the Search field, type cmd and press Enter. (Make sure to run this application as Administrator. To do that, as soon as you see the Command Prompt icon on the search result, right click it and select Run as Administrator.)
  3. You should now the the black DOS command prompt window.
  4. Now, type net stop uxms and hit Enter.
  5. Again, type net stop uxms and press Enter for the second time.
  6. Done!  The Aero theme should have been activated.
