If you use Hotmail you might incur, every now and then, in this error: “Unable to Poll for New Messages on your Http Server”. If this is your case, I have got a simple solution to fix it! The error is triggered when you try to access to a VPN which as a result will block your email account right away. The fix, in this case is to create a proxy exception.

1. Whatever browser you are using to read your Hotmail, open Internet Explorer.
2. Click Tool.
3. Click Internet Options.
4. Now, click the Connection tab.
5. Click the LAN Settings button.
6. Under Server Proxy, tick Use a Proxy Server for your LAN.
7. Now click the Advanced button.
8. In the Do not use proxy server for addresses beginning with field add: *hotmail*;*services.msn*
9. Click OK.
10. Done!
