Rewritable CD and DVD are very handy discs, above all in those situations where you have to burn and save some data, file or software right away and you plan to re-use the same disc in the future. To erase and delete such CD/DVD you need a special feature only available in expensive software like Nero, for example. However, if you own Windows 7 you won’t have to worry about this issue at all. In fact, nested among its new features, Windows 7 has got an interesting tool which lets you delete your rewritable discs…for free!
- Click the My Computer icon on your desktop.
- If you don’t have it on your desktop, click the Start icon and see if it is there.
- Now, right-click the DVD drive located under the Devices Removable Storage section.
- In the Menu you should be able to see the Erase Disc option.
- Click it and wait for Windows to erase your CD or DVD.
- Done!
