Windows 7 Starter edition is the lowest, basic Windows 7 edition available at a very cheap price. Such a price is justified by the fact that a lot of features and options available in other Windows 7 editions are completely missing in this version. In fact, for example, you can not change and customize the wallpaper, you can only use the “Windows Basic”, you can not switch between users, you can not change window colors, or sound schemes etc. This little tutorial will teach you how to unlock certain features in Windows 7 Starter in order to customize it in any way you wish!
- As a first step, download and install Stardock MyColors. This little tool will let you change the theme of your Windows 7.
- Now, if you want to change the screensaver click Start and in the Search field, type change screen saver.
- Click the Change Screen Saver option and change the screensaver!
- If instead you want to change the system sound, click Start and in the Search field, type change system sounds.
- Change the system sound scheme with the ones available!

thanks did not know how to change the screensaver . informative. as for the desktop wallpaper and theme it is possible to change both with tuneup utilities you can change the theme, icons and even the log on screen. theres a lot more choices of themes than there are with stardock my colors (which I tried first & with the limited choices of themes removed immediately) so anyone looking for an alternative should look into it. as for the wallpaper, it too can be changed with a handy little program that doesn’t even have to be installed to use. changes wallpaper to what ever you choose. now my starter edition is customized to the way I want it thanks to these programs. and now thanks to this article I changed my screensaver
thanks bunches.
