By default, Internet Explorer 9 beta places all the stuff you download from the Internet to a default location located under %windir%\users\your_username\downloads. As far as I am concerned I prefer to place all the downloaded files directly on my desktop so that I will have them at hand. Here is a simple trick that will let you change the default download location in IE9 to one which fits your needs.
- Open Internet Explorer 9 beta.
- Now, press CTRL + J . This key combination will launch the Download Manager on your screen.
- On the Download Manager upper-right side click Options.
- Now, click the browse button and browse to the location you wish Internet Explorer to place all the downloaded files.
- Click OK to save the new location.
- Done!
