Internet Explorer 9 betaBy default, Internet Explorer 9 beta places all the stuff you download from the Internet to a default location located under %windir%\users\your_username\downloads. As far as I am concerned I prefer to place all the downloaded files directly on my desktop so that I will have them at hand. Here is a simple trick that will let you change the default download location in IE9 to one which fits your needs.

  1. Open Internet Explorer 9 beta.
  2. Now, press CTRL + J . This key combination will launch the Download Manager on your screen.
  3. On the Download Manager upper-right side click Options.
  4. Now, click  the browse button and browse to the location you wish Internet Explorer to place all the downloaded files.
  5. Click OK to save the new location.
  6. Done!
