windows 7The Search feature in Windows 7 lets you search documents and files of every kind in a fast way thanks to its Windows Search 4.0. Of course to achieve this incredible result, Windows 7 has to index all files available in your computer thus stealing precious and important resources  which could be used for other tasks. This easy tutorial will show you how to turn off the Search feature in Windows 7.

  1. Click Start.
  2. Click Control Panel.
  3. Click Programs and Features.
  4. In the left pane, click the Turn Windows features on or off link.
  5. If prompted by the UAC, click Yes and go on with this tutorial.
  6. Now, a new window called Windows Features should appear on the screen. Scroll down its ment and untick the Windows Search box.
  7. If prompted click Yes or OK.
