balloon messageSometimes, after inserting a USB flash drive to your Windows 7 USB port, the following  “balloon” message might appear on your screen: “This USB Device Can Perform Faster…”. First of all let me tell you that such a message is not triggered by any error. It is only a warning from your “friendly” Windows 7  letting you know that  your computer and your flash drive have got different speeds. Specifically, your computer and your flash drive have USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 specifications. This quick tutorial will teach you how to turn off and disable (for good ) the annoying “This Device Can Perform Faster…” message

  1. Click the balloon message.
  2. A new window will appear on your screen. It contains a list of all USB devices installed on your machine.
  3. At the end of such a window, untick the “Tell me if my device can perform faster” checkbox.
  4. Done!
