They notify you every time a friend signs in or become visible to you, or when you get an email, for example. Useless to say, they can become quite irritating after a while, above all if you chat with your friends! This simple tutorial will show you how to stop and turn off notifications from your Windows Live Messenger 11 (WLM 11).

  1. Sign-in your Windows Live Messenger 11.
  2. Click your name located on the top left side of the chat window.
  3. go to the end of the menu and select More Options.
  4. In the left pane, click Notifications (it should be right before History).
  5. On the right pane, untick all those notifications which annoy you while chatting.
  6. The most irritating notifications to stop are: Any friends sign in into Messenger, I receive a group IM, I receive emails.
