As you know, starting from Windows Vista the security level of files and folders has been increased by Microsoft. In fact, in order to modify a file or a folder you need to take special permissions (ownership). To do that you need to right-click a file/folder, click the Security tab and look for the “Run as administrator” option. In Windows 7,  if you wish to optimize the time and make the whole procedure easier and less annoying, I have just found an application which will let you take permissions to access files and folders in a “painless” way!

OwnerShip Changer is  a free tool which “allows you to Take Ownership or Set Permissions of a file/folder.”  Thanks to it you will be able to manage all your files and folders and decide what kind of permissions to assign them such as: change owner, gain full control, read etc.
