Now, if you want to modify and alter your photos and pictures, you don’t have to be a Photoshop guru anymore. Picjoke.com (2010-2011 version) is an incredible online editor which contains incredible Photo effects freely available for everybody to use! I have to tell you that I have never seen something like that. The amount of effects available is really impressive and best of all, it is for free! I have found out that Picjoke.com is one of the most used online photos editor website on the Internet. However, it is quite unknown to the vast majority of surfers and that’s why I have decided to write about it. A couple of days ago I wrote about some websites which let you create cartoon tags for your Facebook. I would like to add this website to that small list as it is something that might really be useful to you on your social network.
Picjoke.com is a pretty simple website. The “introductory page” will let you choose among different languages in order to translate the home page that contains the tool to alter your photos and pictures. Once you have selected your own language you will be redirected to the real online tool. Don’t expect anything fancy! Pickjoke is rather simple and this is why it is so popular. The left side of the webpage contains a list of effects that have been ordered by date (from 2009 to 2011). The rest of the page is contains some instruction on how to proceed.
Reading from the website: “Your photos – this is the top priority for picjoke. No more need to study photoshop during weeks and months, to explore color correction, textures, gradients. You don’t know the difference between vector and raster graphics? It doesn’t matter at all. Do you like creative work? We are at your service.”
It works in a very simple way. From the left side of the main page, click a date (2010-09-1, for example). Each date contains a list of effects which were added on that day. After that you will have to select the effect you like. Each page contain 15 thumbnails (previews) of effects you will add to your pictures, plus a scrolling row showing you random effects at the end of the page.
Now you will have to upload your picture (you can upload max two photos per effect) and click the “Create your Picture” button. That’s it! Pretty simple, isn’t it?
Once the photo has been modified it will appear on your browser. Now, click the “save to disk” button located at the bottom-left side of the image to download it locally on your computer.
Alternatively, you can also share your photo with your friend by copying a special web address ad paste it to an email or to your blog, for example!
