Windows Live Mail languageIf you just installed Windows Live Mail 2011 (WLM 2011), then you might be at loss on how to change the default language as there is no obvious way to achieve this result.  The need to change and modify the language on  Microsoft email suite is due to the fact that it automatically detects your own language on the base of your Internet IP and your computer  regional settings. So, in case you are in France or your computer default options are set for France , WLM 2011 will install the local language (french). Of course, residing on a certain country doesn’t make you speak its native language right away. That’s why you might need to set a different language. This brief tutorial will show you a couple of tips and tricks which will let you easily solve this issue.

First Method

This method will let you change Windows Live Mail language without having to reinstall it or install any other software.

  1. Click Start on your computer.
  2. Click Control Panel.
  3. Now, open  the Regional settings section.
  4. Right there you should be able to see a special option, a shortcut to let you change language in Windows Live Mail 2011 suite.

Second Method (if you use Windows Live Essential)

  1. Log out and turn off any application depening on Windows Live Essential such as: Windows Live Mail, for example!
  2. Click Start on your computer.
  3. Click My Computer.
  4. Locate and click the LangSelector.exe file.
  5. A new windows should appear on your screen. Select your favorite language.
  6. Click OK.
  7. If the language pack for the new selected default language is not installed on your computer yet, it will get automatically downloaded right away.

I just installed Windows Live Mail on a new computer. Swedish is my default language, but in my work I write mails in both English and Spanish. The program automatically checks the spelling in the default language, and marks that everything is wrong. How can I avoid that?
